What We Believe
Our Statement of Faith captures what we believe, creating a foundation for why we do what we do as a church. The gospel of Jesus Christ is central to who we are and is our primary passion and influence in life together.
We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God.
We believe that there is only one true and living God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was and is both fully divine and fully human; that He took on Himself the form of a man, lived a sinless life, and by His death made a full and vicarious atonement for our sins. And we believe in His bodily resurrection from the tomb, and He is now seated at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and that the free gift of salvation is offered to all. In order to receive eternal life, a person must be born again by turning from their sin and to God, by believing in Christ as Lord and Savior, and by accepting His offer of mercy.
We believe that a true believer has been set apart positionally before God the moment he believes and that he will continue to progressively grow in grace to be more like Christ. One day the believer will be perfectly transformed into the image of Christ.
We believe that Christ instituted two ordinances for His church: baptism as a testimony and picture of our faith in Him, and the Lord’s Supper as commemoration of His death until He comes.
We believe that Christ will one day return for his bride, the church, and judge sin and those who reject Him.
